Fi360 Designees renew their designations on an annual basis. Their renewal date is based on the date they were awarded the designation (ex: a May 1 award date means the designee is due to renew every May 1). Designees may renew their designation 2 months prior to their renewal date. To follow the previous example of a May 1 renewal date, the designee may renew beginning on March 1 and will receive notification of their renewal window opening on that day. Should the designee fail to renew their designation prior to the renewal date, Fi360 grants each designee a one-month grace period as a courtesy to renew their designation with no penalty (in our example, the designee would have until May 31st to complete their renewal with no penalty).
Designees can earn CE during most of the year. Fi360 provides a variety of methods and opportunities for each designee to earn the CE required to renew their designation (for examples, please see Accruing/Reporting Continuing Education (CE) Credits). There are a couple of exceptions, though. Many of our designees wait to renew their designations until after their renewal date and take advantage of the courtesy grace period. During this time, they earn CE toward their current renewal cycle. However, for those designees that renew prior to the renewal date/grace period, they may not earn or accrue CE toward their next renewal until the grace period closes due to accreditation standards.
In keeping with our example of a May 1 renewal date, CE cannot be accrued for the next renewal until June 1st regardless of when the designee renews.
For new designees who are approaching their first renewal, they may begin accruing CE once their award date has passed (ex: if their award date is May 1, the designee may begin to accrue CE on May 2).
