There are two ways in which you can upload your models: individually and bulk import. Below you can find step-by-step instructions on the initial set up process and how to add to/make edits to existing models.
To jump to the applicable section for your need, select it below:
Update Existing Models and Periods
Individual Model Set Up
1) In your Book of Business, go to the Investment Models tab and select +New Model.
2) Fill out the Model basics (note: the items in Red are required, the items in Blue are optional). Then click Next: Add New Period.
To learn more about Blended Benchmarks, click here.
3) Select the period you would like to add allocations for. Note: You can only manually add up to a month-end back to and including the Morningstar quarter-end that is 1 year behind the current Morningstar quarter-end. (To add more historical allocations, it is best to use our Bulk Model Import feature outlined below).
4) Search for funds by Ticker, CUSIP, SECID, or Name, then click add. Note: these can only be added one at a time.
5) Once your funds have been added, fill in the allocations for a total of 100% and click Save. Note: You can check the total at the bottom of this screen and the Save button will remain gray until the 100% is met.
6) If you wish to add more historical periods, click Add New Period and complete steps 3-5. If you are done, click the X.
7) Your model is now ready to run reports.
Bulk Model Import
1) In your Book of Business, go to the Investment Models tab and select Import Investment Models.
2) Download the Template for Model upload and open in Excel.
3) If not already selected, click Enable Editing. Fill in the model information for each model in the columns (starting in Column C). For each model, input the Period in Column A and the Tickers of the included funds in Column B. To add additional periods, repeat the process with the new date.
4) Add the allocations for each model under the appropriate column. These percentages must be represented as decimal point values that equal out to 1.00 for each period. Do not include any additional spacing or totals to your upload, it will cause the process to fail. These are for example only in the photo below.
5) Once you have added all of the models, periods, and allocations you need to; remove the included directions and save the file.
6) Return to your Fiduciary Focus Toolkit and select your Excel file for upload. Once loaded, click Import.
Note: This process will not update existing models. It will add a duplicate with time stamp so you can delete the old one and keep the newest version.
