Q: How many hours do I need to renew?
A: AIF/PPC designees are required to accrue and report a total of six (6) hours of continuing education (CE), with a minimum of four (4) hours delivered by Fi360 or one of its approved CE providers. AIFA designees must accrue and report ten (10) hours of CE, with at least eight (8) hours from Fi360 or its approved providers. For all designations, up to two (2) hours of CE may be earned and self-reported from non-vetted sources. For detailed information on how to submit CE obtained from external sources, please refer to this article.
Q: How do I know of my CE is acceptable?
A: To determine if your Continuing Education (CE) is acceptable, please ensure that the activity complies with the learning objectives and competencies associated with your designation and follows our established guidelines and policies. We do not pre-approve individual CE activities, so it is important to review the criteria to assess suitability. You may earn and self-report up to two hours from non-vetted sources, such as authorship, teaching, or attending live events, provided they fall under the topics approved in our continuing education policies. For detailed guidance, please refer to our guidelines and policies.
Q: Can the Designation Reinstatement fee be credited?
A: The reinstatement fee may be credited on a case by case basis upon approval of a written hardship request submitted within fifteen (15) days of expiration of the designation's active status. Hardship requests should be submitted via email. Please allow ten (10) business days for a decision from the Fi360 Designee Team. All decisions are final.
Q: How long does it take for the Designation Application to be processed?
A: Typical processing time for the application is twenty-four (24) hours. If selected for an audit, please allow approximately ten (10) business days. If the candidate has submitted a Conduct Standards violation with his/her application, please allow approximately thirty (30) calendar days for processing.
Q: How can I receive proof that my Fi360 Designation is in good standing?
A: To request a letter of good standing, please send the request to Fi360Support@broadridge.com. Please allow twenty four (24) hours for processing.
Active status can also be verified here.
Q: Where can I find my designee number?
A: Your designee number can be found in the Learning & Development portal. Select the Designations tab, and then you can view your Designee number below your listed designation.
Q: When is my renewal date?
A: Your renewal date can be found in the Learning & Development portal. Select the Designations tab, then you can view your renewal date below your listed designation.
Q: When is my designation in audit, and when will it be approved?
A: The Fi360 Designee Team randomly audits 5% of new and renewing designation applications. Upon submission, an audit may be conducted to ensure compliance with, and maintain the integrity of, the designation-granting process. Individuals who are selected for a random audit will be notified as such, and will have ten (10) business days from the date of the request to respond with any requested documentation. In the event any deficiencies are determined, individuals will have thirty (30) days to correct them (e.g., report additional CE hours).
Examples of requested documentation may include proof of graduation (e.g., copy of diploma, transcript) from an educational institution, proof of employment, letter of good standing for a professional designation/license, and past criminal and civil litigation, regulatory event, and financial bankruptcy records.
Another type of audit is one caused by an affirmative response to a question within the Conduct Standards Questionnaire. If an applicant submits a violation of the Conduct Standards, the audit is subject to the Qualification and Complaint Procedure (document linked at bottom) and could take up to 30 calendar days to complete.
Q: I missed my renewal date. Can I still renew?
A: Individuals who do not complete the renewal process by the last day of the month in which their Fi360 Designation expires are subject to the reinstatement policy.
Q: Are there any discounts for designee dues?
A: We do not discount designation dues, but if you are experiencing a hardship please reach out to our team to discuss.
