Welcome to the Fiduciary Focus Toolkit! This article guides you through generating your first Monitoring Report - from client setup to downloading your draft report.
This article is intended for first-time or new users of the Fiduciary Focus Toolkit who are creating and running a Monitoring Report for the first time. This article will focus on manually adding investment data. Click here for assistance in importing data.

Once you have logged into your Fi360 Platform account and clicked “Launch” under the Fiduciary Focus Toolkit app card.
Create a Client
- Start from the Clients page.
- Click the Add New Client button (blue, right side of screen).
- In the sidebar that appears, complete the required fields:
- Client Name
- Client Type (Individual or Organizational. Once saved, this cannot be changed.
- Book of Business (if applicable)
- Optional fields can be skipped for now and added later.
- Click Create Client.
The client will be created and you’re now landed on the Client Accounts screen.
Add an Account
- From the Client Accounts screen, click the blue Add New Account button on the right.
- Enter an Account Name (this is the only required field.)
- Other fields can be skipped for now and edited later.
- Click Add.
A new screen will appear with a blank holdings table for the current quarter.
Add Investments (Holdings)
Add Holdings
- On the account holdings page, select the blue New Holdings button on the right. For other ways of importing data, click here.
- Search for an investment by name in the search field at the top.
- Click the matching result that appears under the field.
- Multiple investments of the same name may appear. Try different identifiers to get to the right one or use the screener. For more information on finding the right fund, click here.
- Once you have clicked the result, it will appear in the box called Included Holdings.
- Repeat the above steps for additional funds. Confirm each investment is included in the Included Holdings table.
- Once done, click Save.
Add Asset Values
- From the Holdings tab, click the pencil icon near the holdings controls on the right side. It is to the left of the + New Holdings button (hover text: Edit Table).
- Enter the asset amount for each fund.
- Enter the Assets As Of date.
- Click Save.
Your holdings are now fully added.
Create an Investment Policy Statement (IPS)
- In the upper-left navigation, you will see the words, Clients > **Your New Client Name** > **Your New Account Name**”. Click the blue **Your New Client Name** to go back to the Client Accounts page.
- From there, choose the Investment Policies tab.
- Click Add New Policy.
- Fill in required fields:
- Policy Name
- Select Accounts to Associate (choose the account you just created)
- Other fields can be ignored for now and added later by reviewing the policy. For more information, click here.
- Click Continue.
Configure Triggers
- Review the available fund categories (Active, Passive, Money Market and Stable Value, Target Date Investments).
- Triggers are not required, but we recommend selecting the FI360 Score trigger.
Asset Allocation
- On the Asset Allocation page, choose None.
- Click Create Policy.
Policy creation may take a few minutes, depending on holdings and triggers. Once complete, status will display Active.
Generate the Monitoring Report
- Click the Monitoring Reports tab.
- Find the report for the latest quarter.
- Click the quarter to open the State of Affairs page.
- Select Download Draft PDF (recommended for first-time users).
Generate the Report
- Under Template Selection, choose System Standard.
- Click Generate Report.
- A notification appears confirming that report generation has started.
Download the Report
- If you missed the notification, click the gray X in the upper right to return to the Monitoring Reports page.
- In the upper-right, select the briefcase icon (Report Downloads). This icon can be found near the gear (settings), the face, and the help icon.
- A red dot appears on the briefcase when the report is ready.

Click the report name to download it to your device.
Congratulations!
You’ve successfully:
- Created a client
- Added an account and holdings
- Applied an Investment Policy Statement

Generated and downloaded your first Monitoring Report
Additional Notes & Tips
- The Download Draft PDF option lets you generate unlimited draft reports that look the same as client-ready versions.
- Use Generate Client Ready only when the report is finalized for delivery.
- The Generate Report button on the Accounts page creates Investment Research Reports, not Monitoring Reports. For more information on Investment Research Reports, click here.
